“The Competition Commission and the COMESA Competition Commission are developing a framework in view of conducting joint investigations with regard to restrictive business practices. And at the local level, the Competition Act will be reviewed so as to strengthen some clauses concerning law enforcement,” stated the Executive Director of the Competition Commission, Mr Deshmuk Kowlessur. He participated in the opening ceremony of a Capacity Building Workshop for Stakeholders in Mauritius on the implementation and enforcement of competition and consumer protection laws, on 9 February 2023.
The two-day workshop was jointly organised by the COMESA Competition Commission and the Ministry of Commerce and Consumer Protection.
