The CCM conducted a Resale Price Maintenance Advocacy Workshop for members of the Association of Mauritian Manufacturers on Thursday 17th August 2017. The aim of the Workshop was to apprise the Mauritian Manufacturers of the provisions of the Competition Act 2007 (the Act) on Resale Price Maintenance (RPM) and the one-off RPM Amnesty of the CCM, effective as from 5th June 2017 until 5th October 2017. The Workshop was attended by some 18 participants and was structured into three parts. The first part provided the participants with an introduction to the Act, the main types of restrictive business practices covered under the Act together with an overview of the CCM’s investigative and operational procedures. The second part focussed on providing a detailed explanation of RPM as provided for under the Act, the liability which enterprises found in breach of the RPM violation of the Act might incur and the CCM Amnesty Programme for RPM. The third session was an interactive session where based on hypothetical scenarios, the participants identified conducts which might may amount to RPM under the Act and the queries of participants were also answered.
